Red Valley (Kizilcukur): Cappadocia's Sunset Trail

Red Valley earns its name from the deep red and pink hues of its volcanic rock, which become absolutely breathtaking at sunset. The valley features towering rock walls, narrow passages, hidden cave churches, and vineyards tucked between formations. A small vineyard cafe along the trail serves fresh juice and wine — one of Cappadocia's most atmospheric refreshment stops. The valley connects seamlessly to Rose Valley, making it possible to hike both in a single 3-4 hour adventure. Photographers flock here in the late afternoon when the rocks seem to glow from within, making it the most photogenic spot in Cappadocia at sunset.
